MESSAGE REVIEW
We were extremely Blessed to hear from the expert on all things Leadership John Maxwell this weekend. His message during our 212 conference was how a biblical miracle works, He said a biblical miracle works “when there is a need sensed by a few and each individual understands his or her responsibility and gives their all, regardless of the odds then and only then does Jesus work a miracle.” In today’s prompt we are going to break this down and tie it into the scripture used during the sermon, but the fact of the matter is we can use this saying for every single miracle that took place in the Bible. There was always a need sensed by a few who gave what they had so the Lord could perform the miracle. We are the members of Christ need to be willing to give what we have so God can multiply. Something else John Maxwell said was its one thing to be the receiver of a miracle, but it is an entirely different thing to be the catalyst for a miracle. Let us strive to be a people that God can use to be a catalyst for a miracle.
LET’S TALK ABOUT IT!
- Read Mark 6:32-44 Every miracle in the Bible begins with a problem so good news if you have a problem in your life then you are a candidate for a miracle. In the miracle of the 5 loafs and 2 fish the problem was a need for food to feed a crowd of 5,000 people. When Jesus was notified of this need, he initiated the next qualification of a miracle which was their willingness to fulfill their roles of what could they bring together in faith that the Lord would do something above their expectations and far beyond what they could have thought of themselves. After all that is what classifies something as a miracle, when it is outside your own reasonable expectations. It is then and only then can we expect to see Jesus preform the miracle. God wants to partner with us and not just do things for us. John Maxwell said this about miracles “without God we cannot but without me God will not!” I wonder just how many miracles we miss because we approach God with a need but don’t take the time to listen for our role in having the miracle preformed. What stops you from believing God can perform a miracle in your life? If God could use all you had left to feed 5,000 people how difficult would it be for you to allow him to take what you had?
PRAYER FOCUS & REQUESTS
Ask your members if they have any prayer requests or praise reports. Discuss as a group if everyone understands this key of tithing and how it can be used or has been used in their lives. (TALK ABOUT IT)
