Prayology (Week 5)

• Read Job 1:6-16

6“Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.” 7 And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” 8 “Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?” 9 “So Satan answered the Lord and said, “Does Job fear God for nothing?” 10 “Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.” 11 “But now, stretch out Your hand and touch all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” 12 “And the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.”

13 ““Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house;” 14 and a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, 15 when the Sabeans raided them and took them away—indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!” 16 While he was still speaking, another also came and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!”

To receive revelation, they had to go right to the source, God. So the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord and Satan came with them. God holds even the enemy accountable for his actions. He asked Satan where he came from and he said to and fro in the Earth. “To and fro” means gathering information in the Hebrew. The Bible calls Satan the accuser of the brethren. Heaven is a courtroom and when you pray you are entering a courtroom where there are legalities. God is the only mighty and wise God and judge. Satan is the accuser of the brethren and prosecutor. Jesus is the only mediator or lawyer between God and man. We have a great cloud of witnesses.

Does knowing that you enter a courtroom when you pray, change your perspective on the way that you pray?

13 “You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, Beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes Was prepared for you on the day you were created.” 14 “You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.” 15 “You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, Till iniquity was found in you.” 16“ By the abundance of your trading You became filled with violence within, And you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing Out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the fiery stones.”

In Ezekiel 28 we read the final fall of Satan. By the iniquity of your trading…trading is a business term. It has to do with the learning of a grid. God was okay with Satan until He found the iniquities in him. The iniquity He found in Satan was him working the grid. Heaven and Earth has openings and that’s how Heaven is brought down to Earth. Every evil in the world is so well funded and has unlimited resources. Why? Because before Satan was cast out of Heaven, he knew the system and he has taught it to his people.

How can we as children of God ensure that the Kingdom of Heaven stays well-funded and with unlimited resources?
